CO2 Heat Recovery

It is estimated that between 20 to 50% of industrial energy input is lost as waste heat.

Recovering waste heat can provide an emission free, and inexpensive energy resource.

CO2 not only provides a natural, environmentally friendly refrigerant option, but also provides enhanced opportunities for heat recovery:

  • A CO2 heat recovery heat exchanger can be built into the refrigeration rack, providing free-heat to help meet the facilities hot water and process heating needs

  • CO2 provides higher-temperature heat when compared to conventional refrigerants; capable of generating heat up to 185F – 190F

Potential uses for recovered heat include:

  • Hot water generation

  • Industrial process

  • Drying

  • Space heating

  • Pre-heat combustion air

  • Power generation
